Robert "Bob" Emerson Burress
July 1st, 1933 - May 1st, 2020
Robert "Bob" Emerson Burress went to be with the Lord on May 1, 2020. He was born on July 1, 1933 in Topeka, Kansas to Elza Burress and Grace Walker. He is preceded in death by his parents listed above; sister Loraine; close friends Bob Rice and James Charlesworth. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Donna Ruth Burress; children Marvin and wife Melissa Burress, Karen and husband Joe Katcher, Darwin and wife Shelly Burress, Marlene Burress, Harlan and wife Lian Burress, and Linda and husband Wade Charlesworth; siblings Helen Stover and Darrell Burress; and 10 grandchildren. Bob loved aviation at a young age and even went on to become a crop duster. He served in the Army and was awarded M1 marksman and Army of Occupation Medal during his service in the Korean War. After proudly serving his country, Bob enjoyed building sprint cars and even helped with building his son's race car. Bob moved to Colorado in 1979 setting his sights on new adventures. He enjoyed fishing and various hobbies but most of all loved spending time with his large family. His family describes him as very giving and loving; and a man who never met a stranger. The one word that the family agrees would describe Bob would be "overcomer". He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
