Harold A. Hadley
February 25th, 1912 - October 24th, 2010
Harold A Hadley was born on February 25, 1912 in Star, Idaho to Arthur and Grace Hadley and went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday morning October 24, 2010. He graduated from Star High School in 1931 and attended school at Pacific College (presently George Fox University) in Newberg Oregon where he met the love of his life Bertha M. Walton. They were married December 3, 1933 at East Whittier Friends Church in Whittier California. They made their home north of Star where Harold farmed until around the age of 85, then he still kept his hands in the fields by helping his son Warren with his farming until Harold was unable to get up on a tractor. In his younger years he helped his father with the family owned business, Hadley Hardware in Star. He served on the Foothill Ditch Board, Star Cemetery Board, The Star School Board, and he served on the Quaker Hill Board, Star Camp Meeting Board and on many committees for the Star Friends Church. In all he did he served as an example for all who served with him. He was a faithful member and supporter of the Star Friends Church for 98 years. Of recent years he was especially interested in the support of the Little Miracles Preschool and Quaker Hill youth camps in McCall. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, two sisters, Lucille Mylander and Kathryn Wilhite, grandson Richard Eugene Lytle and great granddaughter Kylee Morgan Hadley. He is survived by his daughter Janette Lytle and husband Bob, sons, Melvin Hadley and wife Lyla, Floyd Hadley and wife Sharon, Warren Hadley and wife Laura and daughter Margaret Hiskey and husband Sam. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed. Viewing will be on Thursday evening at Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Caldwell, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., family and friends are welcome. Services will be held at the Star Friends Community Church in Star Idaho on Friday, October 29, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Star Cemetery.
