Alfredo Garcia Balderas Sr., 85, of Caldwell, entered Heaven’s Gate to be with the Lord on Friday, September 18, 2015. He was born on July 4, 1930 in Guanajuato, Mexico to Severiano and Alberta Balderas. In his younger years, Alfredo enjoyed horseback riding. He liked to watch western movies and enjoyed tending to his garden during the summer months. He was an active member of the Catholic Church, devoting much of his time to praying, teaching and singing. Family get-togethers were important to him and he especially loved being together with loved ones during the holidays. Alfredo Balderas Sr., our Father, will be truly missed. Alfredo is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Emelina H. Balderas; his ten surviving children, Enrique (Estella) Balderas, Ricardo Balderas, Elida Balderas, Flora Lopez, Rosa Gomez, Alberto Balderas, Armando (Betty) Balderas, Janie Balderas, Maria Balderas and Melane Balderas; two sisters, Guadalupe B. Garcia and Ma Angeles B. Garcia and numerous grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Severiano Balderas and Alberta Garcia; sister, Esperanza B. Garcia; son, Alfredo Balderas Jr. and his daughter-in-law, Dorothy Balderas. A Viewing for Alfredo will be held on Wednesday, September, 23, 2015 from 5:00-8:00PM with Rosary Recital at 7:00 PM at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, Caldwell. Burial will follow at Canyon Hill Cemetery, Caldwell.
