Ethel Rogers Leah passed away at the age of 90 on April 24th due to complications from hip surgery after a fall. She was born in Benton, IL to Carl and Myrtle (Landreth) Grammer. She was the oldest of seven children. Her siblings called her “Pud”. She attended school in a one room schoolhouse. She married Ralph Rogers on July 8th, 1950. He died in 1995. Together, they raised seven children. In the early years of their marriage, the family lived in Idaho, then Fall Creek and Oakridge, OR. They moved to AZ briefly, then to Eugene in 1960. They left Eugene in 1976 for Nebraska, where they did ministry work. They returned to Oregon in the early eighties, and made their home in Junction City, OR. Mom had friends in many states! Mom loved Jehovah God, and was His faithful servant. She was a hard worker, and loved picking and canning food and caring for her family in all the ways a mother does. She loved being a grandmother! Her hobbies were baking, dancing (she loved to jitterbug), playing cards and board games, reading (especially Bible publications), arranging photo albums, and doing word puzzles. She is survived by her children, Sue (Dennis) Shannon, Nora (Mike) Larion, Debby (Dennis) Strilzuk, Vicki (Tom) Loveless, Marvin (April) Rogers, and Carla (Jared) Still. In addition to her 32 grandchildren, she is survived by great-grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Jack Grammer of Idaho, and her sisters Faye Cerepa of Gold Beach, OR and Lynda White of Hawaii. She was preceded in death by her son Larry (Bonnie) Rogers, and her grandchildren David Larion, Brian Shannon, Steve Shannon, and Laura Shannon. She gave us the gift of family. Memorial services were held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Harrisburg on April 27th.
