Born on December 8th 1954, Keith Cotterman Hoskins began his life in San Francisco, California. The youngest of five siblings, Keith was raised in the Bay Area by his parents Gilman and Catherine Hoskins. In his adolescence, Keith enjoyed hiking, camping, bike riding and being with friends. He found many an adventure in the bay area growing up, including receiving his private pilot"s license, and continued enjoying life as he entered The College of San Mateo in 1972 majoring in aviation. After visiting the ASU campus, he knew he was in the right spot to finish his degree and start a career. Shortly after completing his Bachelor"s of Science (Summa Cum Laude) in Aeronautical Technology at ASU, he decided to switch his career focus onto law. Graduating Magna Cum Laude at the top of his class in 1980 he went on and tied for the highest score on the Multi-state Bar exam and was sworn into the Arizona Bar Association in October 1980. While studying at ASU, he met his future wife, Darlene Ruth Patterson, while she was playing volleyball. They spent their time together at college enjoying the outdoors and social gatherings. On June 10th 1978 Keith and Darlene were married. Just beginning his career with Gust Rosenfeld their first child, Colin MacRae Hoskins, was born in 1981. A short two years later, Nathan Alan Hoskins was added to the growing family in 1983. Their third son, Christopher James Patterson Hoskins was born in 1987. The final addition was Kathleen Nicole Hoskins born in 1990. Keith continued supporting his family while working at Gust Rosenfeld and could share his love of the outdoors with his family taking them on many adventures into the wild while backpacking, skiing, camping, and shooting. As the Hoskins family was getting older, Keith welcomed new members to the Family. Colin married Nneka Ofoloma in 2004, and they brought a grandchild into Keith"s life, Josephine Annabelle Hoskins in 2010. Keith gladly walked Kathleen down the aisle the day she wed William Smith in 2010. On December 9th, 2011 Keith Hoskins passed away at his home in Gilbert Arizona after his epic battles with cancer. He leaves behind family, friends, and associates who will always remember the adventures they"ve had, his intelligence, sharp wit and the laughter he shared. You can shed tears that he is gone Or you can smile because he has lived You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back Or you can open your eyes and see all that he has left Your heart can be empty because you can't see him Or you can be full of the love that you shared You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday You can remember him and only that he is gone Or you can cherish his memory and let it live on You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back Or you can do what he would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on. David Harkins- written 1981 A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday December 18, 2011 at Falconer Funeral Home, 251 W. Juniper Ave. Gilbert, AZ.
