Joe Henry Alvarez

Joe Henry Alvarez Jr., 50 years old, entered the gates of heaven on March 19th, 2020. He is survived by his mother, Maria Alvarez, brother Sergio and three sisters, Veronica, Matilda, Soledad and Melissa. Joe is remembered by his nieces and nephews, who describe their Tio Boy as a hero, playful, artist, collector, loving, protector and brought happiness in their lives. He was a loving father to his children, Briyanna (Brinny), Joe (Kid), Vanessa (Queenie), Refugia (Cuca), Consuelo (Connie) and Rey (el Rey). Joe was an amazing grandfather to 20 grandchildren! Joe Henry Alvarez Jr. was a proud man filled with love and happiness. He was always willing to help others and offer himself to become adaptable to what was needed. His smile would lighten up anyone’s day because within that smile he loved life, enjoyed spreading love, happiness, and care. As a father, he always made sure his children were content. Dad was always there to save the day and ensure that his children had what they needed and sometimes wanted. Tata Joe was everything! He was nice, respectful, loyal, brave, caring, loving, grateful, handsome, cool, artistic, crafty, funny, patient, humble, responsible, authentic, social, presentable, had good fashion, loved oven pizza, Kool-Aid and peanuts. Tata Joe loved to babysit and most of all trusted in God! Joe was known as Indio, Boy, Kojack, Ko, and Joe Public. Everyone enjoyed having his presence and having conversations with him. He spoke highly of his family and friends who were very dear to his heart. Services will be held on Friday March 27th, 2020 at 4:30 p.m., Santa Lucia Church: 5445 E. Calle San Angelo, Guadalupe, AZ 85283. Mass will be held on Saturday March 28th, 2020 at 8:00 a.m., Santa Lucia Church. Following the mass, he will be laid to rest at the Guadalupe Cemetery: 4649 S. Beck Ave., Tempe, AZ 85282.
