Delaine Eula Tinsley
October 24th, 1932 - March 30th, 2023
Born in Bayard, Nebraska, 90 years ago Delaine (Walker) Tinsley left her earthly life on March 30, 2023. Delaine’s beloved parents, three sisters, and husband predeceased her. She had a most unusual childhood attending 18 different schools and living in 10 states as her father was an ironworker packing up his family and moving to each job site. Delaine married Dennis Tinsley at age 20 and soon left Oklahoma for Arizona where her father was working at the new copper mine at Silver Bell. There she enjoyed an idyllic life raising daughters, Denise and Patricia. Well known and loved in the small mining town, Delaine even delivered the newspapers and continued to care for residences’ yards as the town emptied out in 1983. Delaine and Dennis have the distinction of the residents living the longest in Silver Bell – 30 years! Once living in northwest Tucson, Delaine worked as a sales clerk for department stores Levy’s, Foley’s, and Robinsons-May. She became active at St. Mark’s Methodist Church, and for 30 years was a member of the quilting group that donated quilts. In her later years, Delaine enjoyed traveling with family and friends. Her favorite trip was going to see her cousin and family in Provence and seeing much of France. Delaine even snorkeled in the Hawaiian ocean at the age of 83! Delaine reveled being a grandma and great-grandma with joy, laughter and love. All children remember spending special time with her, cooking and baking, learning to sew, attending events and enjoying explorations around Arizona. Her hugs and cheerful smile will be greatly missed. Delaine is survived by: daughter, Denise Tinsley Bram (spouse Gary Bram), grandchildren Nicole Bram (great-grandchildren, Armand and Andres), Shannon Castro (great-grandchild Zane), and Ryan Bram; daughter Patricia (Trisha) Garcia, grandchild Christopher Garcia (Daysi) and great-grandchildren, Maya, Leia and Osiris. Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 22, 2023 2:00 pm at St. Mark’s Methodist Church, 1431 W. Magee Rd., Tucson, AZ.
