James D. Roth 87, died on December 23, 2015 in Tucson, AZ. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 9, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Christ the King Episcopal Church, 2800 W. Ina Road, Tucson, AZ. Mr. Roth was born on August 19, 1928 in Hazelton, Pennsylvania the oldest child of James D. Roth, Sr. and Mary Bevington Roth. He graduated from Fairmount High School in Fairmount, Indiana and received a bachelors and master's degree from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. He served as superintendent of Coolidge and Sahuarita Unified School Districts as well as a teacher and coach in Iowa and Indiana. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Virginia Irvin Roth; two daughters, Charie Wallace of Casa Grande, Susan Roth Mulrow of Tucson; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, two brothers, Bob and Dan Roth and a sister, Joan Butcher all of Fairmount, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that you support your local public schools because Jim dedicated his life to educating young people.
