Thomas W. Holloway, Jr. was born on January 26, 1933 in Richmond, Missouri to Thomas and Grace (Sportsman) Holloway and went to his eternal rest on November 10, 2015 in Tucson, Arizona. Tom had a remarkable career in the US Army during which time he bravely served his country in the Korean and Vietnam Wars and spent the rest of his 30 year career defending our nation in various parts of the world such as Arkansas, Virginia, Portugal, Germany (Frankfurt & Zweibrucken), and Turkey (Izmir twice). Attaining the rank of Command Sergeant Major, he retired in 1980 to Independence, Missouri and spent his retirement years raising a bountiful garden, collecting antiques, and spending time with those he loved. In 1992, Tom and Mualla moved to Tucson, Arizona to enjoy the beautiful climate and to escape the snowy winters in Missouri. He enjoyed life, loved and cared for hurt and injured animals, was kind to everyone he met, and will be dearly missed by all of those who knew and loved him so much. Tom would tell you that his first tour to Izmir, Turkey in 1953 was the most beautiful time in his life as it was there that he met the love of his life, Mualla Sakarya. They were married on June 17, 1954 and just recently celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. The epitome of true love and eternal friendship, their love will never die. Tom is survived by his loving wife Mualla and his daughter Jasmine, both in Tucson, Arizona, his sisters , Patsy Hale of Florida, Beverly Harrison, Doris Allen, Donna Milligan, and his half-sister Phyllis Paul all of whom reside in Missouri. He is predeceased by his father Thomas, his mother Grace, his sister Barbara and his brother Herman.
