Robert Cawley
September 23rd, 1960 - March 3rd, 2011
Robert David Cawley 50, was born September 23,1960 in Springfield, Illinois and passed away on March 3,2011, at the young age of 50. Robert touched the hearts of many people and will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 11 years, Carol; his children, Jennifer (Springfield, IL.) Tara and Taylor (Tucson); his parents, Robert And Lillian Cawley (Springfield, IL); his two brothers, David Cawley(Bonnie) (Springfield, IL) and Mark Cawley (Athens, TN) and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Robert enjoyed bowling, softball and most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was also the #1 fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues. Robert loved his Country and served with honor, he served in the US Navy for four years and later served in the 162nd Air National Guard of Tucson, AZ and 183rd Air National Guard in Springfield, IL, retiring after 29 years of service. Robert was currently employed by URS, EG&G Division, Predator Program at Davis Monthan Air Force Base. Robert was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and belonged to the Sangamo Surf Club of Springfield, IL, Robert was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church and Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Springfield, IL. A recitation of the Rosary will take place at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 1946 E. Lee Street at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8,2011 with a Funeral Mass following at 5:00 p.m. Services will conclude after a Reception in Gramar Hall. Services will be held in Springfield, IL, on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 11:00a.m. at Saint Joseph Catholic Church 1345 North 6th Street.. Reception to follow at the Sangamo Surf Club from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. An Inurnment Service will take place at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona 23029 North Cave Creek Road Phoenix Arizona on Friday, March 11, 2011 at 2:30p.m. with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Saints Peter and Paul Catholic School, 1436 N. Campbell Ave., Tucson, Arizona 85746 In memory of Robert Cawley.
