Bring's Broadway Chapel
William "Bill" R. Wood
September 4th, 1959 - June 18th, 2021
Bill “PaaPaw” Wood, 61 years old, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on June 18, 2021. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Cathy Wood. He is survived by his loving wife Minnetta, step son Jay Dee (Beth), grandsons Aerik and Damian, his dearest friend Joe Hoschiedt, who has been on this journey with us, his sisters Cathy (Bill) and Becky (Mike), and his brother Glenn (Pam), and many nieces and nephews. Bill was a native Tucsonan, graduating from Palo Verde High School in 1977. His joys in life were his Dodgers, hunting, fishing, sleeping under the stars, and watching his grandson play baseball. For 25 years Bill faithfully supported world class astronomy on Kitt Peak as the University of Arizona’s 90” telescope Site Supervisor. His patient and gentle demeanor will be deeply missed by his peers and astronomers alike. No words can describe how much Bill will be missed, but it has been “quite a party.” Service details will be announced at a later date.
