M. Arlene Bentley Loving mother, giving grandmother and caring friend; born August 7, 1933 in Chicago, IL died to be with the Lord on March 4, 2014 in Tucson, Arizona. Preceded in death by her husband Raymond and parents Sophia and George Schwenkler and brother Dennis (Carole) Schwenkler. Arlene is survived by her daughter and sons, John (Gail) Bentley of Tucson, James (Linda) Bentley of Douglas, AZ, Christine Bentley and Jerald (Jill) Bentley all from Tucson, grandchildren Angela (Robert) Burke, Jenny (Chris) Ryan, Carlota (Leroy) Love, Jeremy Bentley, Barbara Weeks, Justin (Cherah) Bentley, Jacqueline (Kenny) Kiene, Christopher Weeks, and ten great-grandchildren. Arlene moved to Tucson from Chicago in 1941. She attended SS Peter and Paul and graduated from Tucson High School in 1951. She the married Raymond in 1954. She worked as a secretary for the University of Arizona in the 1960's then devoted her life to her family. Retired with Raymond in 1986 to Portland, Oregon. They returned to Tucson in 1996 to enjoy time with loved ones. Her hobbies included serving the Lord through The Society of St. Vincent de Paul feeding and clothing the poor, gardening, reading, collecting figurines of her favorite birds, working crossword puzzles (in pen) spending time on Pacific Coast beaches and University of Arizona sports, especially basketball. Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday March 12, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, 1800 S. Kolb Rd. Tucson, AZ.
