Emilie Carnevale
October 27th, 1928 - February 29th, 2020
Emilie Carnevale, 91, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 29, 2020 after a long, loving and fruitful life. Emilie MayBelle Hebert was born in Smithdale, Mississippi October 27, 1928 to John and Clara Hebert. She was the second youngest of 10 children. Emilie married Nicolino Carnevale on August 1, 1947 and together owned and operated bakeries in New Orleans, San Diego, Las Vegas and Palm Springs. One of their most iconic establishments was Nicolino and Son's Italian Bakery and Deli in Palm Springs, opening in 1971. Currently, two Nicolino's Italian Restaurants still operate in Palm Springs and Cathedral City, fulfilling Nicolino and Emilie's Legacy. In 1988, they moved to Havasu and owned and operated Nicolino's Italian Restaurant on Smoketree. They retired in 2002 and Nicolino passed away September 6, 2010. Emilie was a past President of Soroptimists International, a member of New Yorkers Club, worshipped at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and frequented the Mohave County Senior Center. Emilie is survived by her sons, Michael (Kimberly...Havasu) and Mark (Rhonda...Cathedral City, CA), brother Leo Hebert 85 (Farragut,TN), brother-in-law, Mike Carnevale 96 (San Diego), 4 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews throughout the country. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister and seven brothers. Emilie was always smiling, upbeat and ready to "get it done". She enjoyed boating, RVing, cooking and family. She especially loved talking care of her "Puppies" when she operated her pet sitting business "Cody Care", named after her beloved Maltese, Cody Bear. Her sons will be hosting a party to celebrate her blessed life at the Elks Club, Havasu, on Saturday April 18 noon to 3:00. And another at the San Diego Yacht Club, Saturday May 16 noon to 3:00. Special thanks to family friend Diane Carlson, Prestige Assisted Living and River Valley Hospice.
