Rosita C. Alejo
April 21st, 1937 - January 10th, 2023
On Tuesday, January 10th, beloved Rosita Coloma Alejo passed peacefully at Methodist Hospital in Sacramento surrounded by family. She was 85. Born on April 21, 1937 in Baguio, Philippines to Angelina and Fructouso “Frank” Coloma, Rosita was one of eight siblings. In 1952, Rosita married her husband of nearly 70 years, Juan Alejo. Together, the newlyweds moved to his hometown of Cuyapo, Nueva Ecija. There they had three children, Desiree, Nestor, and Maria Corazon. In 1968, the family moved to California, settling in Daly City before retiring to Galt and eventually Sacramento. “Mama” Rosita will be remembered for her story-telling, sense of humor, vibrant laugh, and gregarious spirit. Family and friends were welcomed into their home, where everyone was fed and cared for. In the latter part of her life, Mama loved to travel, visit casinos, and spend time with her husband, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Rosita was preceded in death by siblings Teresita, Leonila, Felisa, George, Danilo “Danny”, and her son, Nestor “Johnny." She is survived by her husband, Juan, and two daughters Desiree “Daisy” and Maria Corazon “Cora”. She was the proud grandmother of Michael “Mike”, Angie, Christopher, Jasmine, Kristina, Matthew, Andrew, Jessica, Johnny Jr., Lauren, and Leilani; and the loving great grandmother to Kale’a, Jaden, Halia, Isayah, Mikaila, RJ, Andrea, Marc, Callan, and Benicio. Rosita leaves behind brothers Sonny and Epifanio “Boy” as well as a host of many other family members and friends. Rosita was a devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend that will be dearly missed and fondly remembered. May she now find eternal rest in the arms of the Lord. Family and friends are invited to St. Charles Borromeo Church on Thursday, February 2 at 10 AM to honor and celebrate the life of Rosita.
