Gene Benton Jr.

Gene Donald Benton Jr, 57, of Modesto, CA, tragically passed away due to an auto versus bicycle accident on November 23, 2023, in Lodi, CA. He was born on January 19, 1967, in Modesto, CA. Gene was a very giving person, always willing to share what he had with others, even if it wasn't much. He had a love for life and family, and his romantic nature led him to appreciate the beauty of sunsets and sunrises. Gene had a strong sense of adventure and would readily embark on hitchhiking trips across the states. He found solace in fishing and the great outdoors, where he would often spend his time. Throughout his 57 years of life, Gene experienced more than most people could imagine. He was fiercely loyal to his loved ones and had a free-spirited nature, drifting wherever the wind took him. Gene is survived by his daughter, Dana, and grandchildren, Donna, Ervin, Kristina, and Reigh. He is also survived by his sister, Sharon, brother-in-law, Rodney, niece's, Stella and Alina, nephew, Cody, as well as several aunts, cousins, and many loved ones. Gene was preceded in death by his mother, Stella, father, Gene Sr., and niece, Jennifer. Gene found solace and spiritual connection in the great outdoors, where he saw the many wonders and artistic creativity of the Lord. A memorial service will be held on December 16, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Lodi, located at 267 N Mills Ave, Lodi, CA. Gene Donald Benton Jr will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His generous spirit, love for adventure, and loyalty to those he loved will forever be cherished. His wings were ready, but our hearts were not. May he rest in peace.
