Daryl “Butch” Lee Jackson---March 19, 1949 – November 16, 2017 Butch Jackson, 68, passed away Nov 16,2017 in Lafayette, CO after a long courageous battle with cancer. Butch was born March 19, 1949 in Ft. Lupton, CO to Jesse and Grace Jackson. He attended Boulder High School prior to joining the Navy Butch married Jeri Olivia Harris on January 9, 1972 in Dove Creek, CO. Together they had many adventures in life. They raised two daughters, Joy and Jamie who he was very proud of. Butch retired from the Navy in 1988 after 20 years of honorable service. He and Jeri then returned to Colorado where they settled in Longmont. Once back in Colorado Butch went to work at Rocky Flats for the next 15 years. After leaving Rocky Flats he went to work for Micro Motion where he worked until he retired in 2012. Butch was a lifelong avid hunter and fisherman. He would often spend his free time out on a lake or river taking in the beautiful Colorado scenery. Butch also enjoyed gardening and woodworking. He made numerous gifts for family and friends. Butch was preceded in death by his parents Jesse N. Jackson and Grace M. Jackson. A brother Jesse (Nick) Jackson , JR. He is survived by his wife Jeri Jackson of Longmont; daughters Joy (Phil) Boritzki of Bastrop, Tx; Jamie (Kyle) Kempfer of Niwot, CO; Sister Cheryl (Ron) Pierson of Clifton, Tx; brother Tim Jackson of Commerce City, CO; numerous nieces, nephews, aunt, uncles and cousins. Butch was devoted to his family and always tried to take care of everyone, he will be greatly missed by all.Charitable donations may be made to: Wounded Warrior Project 7020 A.C.
