Memorial Keepers (1)
Benito & Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel
Angelo William Rossi, Sr.
September 2nd, 1924 - December 16th, 2015
Angelo passed peacefully, with his family by his side, on December 16, after a brief bout of pneumonia. Angelo lived and died on his own terms making decisions about his health care until the end. You could always count on Angelo for a lively, intelligent discussion. He was up on current events, politics, the stock market and sports. A few hours before passing, he was listening to the news "wondering what the Feds were going to do with the interest rate," and also looking forward to that night's Warriors Basketball game. When visiting him, you better be prepared for his quick wit and some playful kidding. Angelo spoke little about himself or his accomplishments; however he was an astute business man, having co-owned the Ideal Fish Restaurant with his brother-in-law, Joe, for many years. People often share their fond memories of working for Angelo at the restaurant. He was also a pilot who co-owned a Cherokee 180 plane which he flew in and out of Sky Park Airport in Scotts Valley. The family loved to fly with him, whether it was a short trip up the coast or father away on vacation. Angelo was also active much of his life, being an avid golfer, which he continued to play into his 80s. He is preceded by his wife of 58 years, Lou, his son Randy, and siblings, Louise, Rose, Helen and Jack. He is survived by his children Debbie & Rod, Joe & Virginia, Angelo (Chip) Jr & Denise; grandchildren, Brian & Angie, Joanna, Brandi & Joe, and Denver & Megan; great-grandchildren, Amelia, Emerson, Cooper, Easton, Bode & Ryder. We wish to thank Dr. Rebecca Barker for her long time and thoughtful care of Angelo. Thanks also to Dr. William Cao who helped Angelo during his final days and Lori and Rosie for their care and friendship. A memorial gathering of friends and family will take place at Benito & Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel, 1050 Cayuga St., Santa Cruz, CA on Tuesday December 29, 2015 from 4:00 pm to 6:00pm.
