Maria A. Guerrero Maria A. She was born February 3, 1922 in Santa Barbara, CA. Maria worked at a variety of jobs throughout her life, including shipyard welder, field and cannery worker, housekeeping, and court interpreter. She moved to Monterey in 1943, where she met and married Jesus Guerrero, who preceded her in death in 1958. She moved to Watsonville in 1962. Maria had a great passion for taking care of family and friends. She was cherished by many as a second mom and adopted grandmother. She is survived by her daughters, Teresa (Salvador) Jimenez and Mary Guerrero of Watsonville; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Mario) Prado of Sunnyvale, Juan Antonio Jimenez, and Imelda Jimenez of San Francisco; and two great grandchildren Diego and Liliana Prado. In lieu of flowers, donations to honor Maria?s memory may be made to Hospice of Santa Cruz County, the American Heart Association, or the American Red Cross Santa Cruz County Chapter. For almost 100 years, our cemetery has served the residents of the Monterey Bay Area. Mission Memorial Park opened in 1934 as Mission Memorial Cemetery and for many years was run by the City of Monterey. In 1988, Monterey Peninsula Mortuary opened on the grounds of our beautiful Seaside location. In 2007 we closed our Chapel of Seaside at our Noche Buena location and merged the two to become Mission Mortuary & Memorial Park....
