Grace Lucido

Born December 08, 1920 in Monterey, CA to Simone and Mary Cardinale, Grace was a beloved wife, dedicated mother and proud Nana. Surrounded by her loving family, she passed away peacefully on April 4, in Brentwood CA. As a young girl, during the Great Depression, Grace followed the canneries from Monterey to Antioch, where she met the love of her life. Grace married her sweetheart, Frank J. Lucido on September 3, 1939. They shared a wonderful life together and raised their three children in Pittsburg, CA. She was an outstanding cook and further developed her skills while working in the family’s restaurant businesses. She was determined to pass down the old-world Sicilian traditions learned from her mother. Grace was a devout Catholic and adored her family, extended family and friends. She was a devoted mother and leaves behind a legacy of love and tradition. Grace’s finest attribute was nurturing and maintaining relationships. Once a friend of hers; you were a friend for life. She was loved by all that knew her. Grace is survived by her children Joseph, Samuel and wife, Linda, Kathleen Culcasi and husband, Vincent, brother, Sal J. Cardinale and wife, Sandie, 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, sister, Nina, 2 grandsons and a great-grandson. Special thanks to Sutter Care at Home, Hospice, Dr. Matthew Lucero, Josephine Jurado, and Elaine Wilson for taking such great care of Grace. A Rosary Service will be heald in Monterey, CA at San Carlos Cathedral, at 7:00 pm on Monday, April 11. Funeral Mass will be held at San Carlos Cathedral, on Tuesday, April 12, 2016, 9:30a.m. and burial will follow in the San Carlos Cemetery. Service Information
