Irene Bowling

Obituary Loving wife and mother, and longtime resident of the Monterey Bay, Irene Bowling passed away peacefully at home on December 5, 2018. Irene was born February 25, 1929 in London, England, to Robert and Elsie McMorran. At age 10, she was evacuated to Wales during WWII. Her family survived the "blitz" and after the war she returned to London to reunite with her mother and father. Later, in her early 20's, Irene ventured abroad traveling to the U.S. where she eventually met and married Howard Bowling. The couple settled in Santa Barbara and had two daughters, Deborah and Jennifer. In 1972, the family moved to Pacific Grove where she would spend much of the next 46 years. Irene loved the arts and found her passion in painting, sewing and decorating. She was an avid reader and enjoyed to travel. Irene is preceded in death by husband Howard and daughter Deborah. She is survived by daughter Jennifer. We were blessed by her life and she will truly be missed. Deep gratitude to Hospice of the Central Coast for their compassionate care of Irene.
