Awtar Singh Sohal

On February 27, 2018, our beloved father and grandfather, Awtar Singh Sohal, of Yuba City, CA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones at the age of 69. He was born in the village of Atta in Punjab, India on December 6, 1948, to Naranjan Singh Sohal and Surjit Kaur Sohal. He moved to the United States in 1964 and was a resident of the Yuba-Sutter area for over 50 years, farming peaches. On April 15, 1973, he was married to his loving wife, Sukhvir Kaur Sohal. He was a brave man who had faced many challenges with resiliency, courage and faith. He was a humble kindhearted man who had an amazing infectious laugh. He will be deeply missed by his loved ones. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Sukhvir Kaur Sohal; children who think the world of him, Sandeep Singh Sohal and Kristy Kaur Sohal (son-in-law, Amardeep Dhaliwal); and his sweet granddaughters, Jaya and Henna Sohal. He is survived by his brothers, Bhajan Sohal and Walbinder Sohal; sisters Parminder Kahlon, Rashpal Bajwa and Bopinder Kaur; several nephews and a niece. He is preceded in his passing by his parents, Naranjan and Surjit Sohal. Funeral services will start at 11am at Ullrey Memorial Chapel on Friday, March 2, 2018.
