Maria Dolores Mata Born April 7, 1922, passed away on September 13, 2008 in Salinas. She was a life-long resident of Monterey County. She is survived by her husband Enrique Mata of the family home daughers Dora and Mike Ruiz Maria and Sal Contreraz grandchildren Chris Ortiz Albert Contreraz Denille and Ashlee Ruiz seven great-grandchildren numerous great-greatgrandchildren nieces Mary Esther Valdez Rosemarie Luna Pilar Acosta nephew David Valdez preceded in death sister Rosa Maria Valdez brother Pilar N. At Healey, we treat our Salinas Valley community members like family. Our story begins after World War II when Veteran Herbert C. Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
