Vicenta Felipe
March 20th, 1925 - October 26th, 2012
Her long illustrated and glorious life of 87 years now takes a faithful beginning when our beloved mother, wife, grandmother and friend to all, Vicenta "Vicky" S. Felipe peacefully passed away and met her creator on Friday, October 26, 2012 at the Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital in the presence of her family after a long illness. A devoted Catholic, Vicky was a long time parishioner of St. Mary of the Nativity Church in Salinas. Vicenta, Fondly known as Vicky by her family and friends, she was born on March 20, 1925 in Ormoc, Leyte, the Philippines. At that time, Eliseo was with the U.S. Army and had just landed with the troops led by the famous General Douglas MacArthur back in 1944. The fabled story was that Vicky was saved by Eliseo's heroics and although it wasn't love at first sight, it was the beginning of a marriage that would bring a new creation of a family that settled in Salinas for the past fifty years. She will be remembered for her love of life, her radiant smile and dimples. Relatives and friends will forever recall how she opened up her heart and home to some great home cooked meals. Vicky is survived by her loving husband: Eliseo, her daughters: Vivian (Jimmy) Rimando, Evelyn (Oscar) Bolante, Gloria Felipe, and her son: Ernesto Felipe. Grandchildren: Jeffrey and Javier Bolante, Brian and Victor Rimando, her Great Grandsons: Erik and Blake Kausin, Jasper and Jameson Bolante. We Entrusted Vicenta Felipe's Care To
Healey Mortuary
At Healey, we treat our Salinas Valley community members like family. Our story begins after World War II when Veteran Herbert C. Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
