Rosa Angelia Quintana Brito
April 21st, 1942 - February 1st, 2022
Tuesday, February 1, 2022, the gates of Heaven opened for Rosa Angelia Quintana Brito, to be with the Lord, at the age of 79. Born Rosa Angelina Martinez on April 21, 1942, in Duncan, Arizona, to her loving parents Rogerio Martinez a farmer and Piedad Quintana Martinez a housewife. Rosie, as known to her family, grew up with her three wonderful sisters: Marylou Holbrook (Larry), Hilda Sanchez (Lupe), and Herlinda Brown (Bill) in a loving household in Arizona, till they later moved to California, where Rosa graduated from Pierce High School in Arbuckle, CA, in 1960. Rosa was a Majorette and played the clarinet for the band. One of Rosa's fondest memories in school was going to play in the Sun Bowl in El Paso, TX, with the band. Rosa married in 1961, having three children: Rosemarie Angelina Acuna (Gabriel), Ruben Junior Brito and Sonya Esther Brito (Frank) at which time she was living in Las Vegas, Nevada. Shortly after, Rosa came back to California where she devoted her life to raising her three children on her own, plus any other child that walked through her door, which were many. Through her challenges Rosa lived her life providing unconditional love, family values, generosity, kindness, strong work ethics, faithfulness, honesty, laughter, never leaving anyone out regardless of what she may have been going through. Mom, our Angel on Earth, our light that shined bright every day, a selfless soul that showed love in everything she did will live forever in our hearts. ~Rosa usually held a full-time job with at least one part time job, if not two. Rosa worked for the Government at the Marysville Post Office, Sutter County at the Welfare Department and retiring from the State of California working at Cal Trans District 3 in Marysville for 25 years, plus all the part-time jobs she worked while holding these positions. In 1986, while enjoying her love for music and dance, Rosa met her fiance, the love of her life, the man of her dreams, Jose S. Quintana in Woodland, CA. The glow that surrounded Rosa every day after they met will shine in her heart forever. They devoted their love and lives to each other for 36 years. Our Dad, Jose is one of the best gifts Rosa gave to herself, her children and all our family. Jose everyday provided unconditional love and care to Rosa even as she took her last breath here on earth and her first breath into Heaven. Rosa is preceded in death by her parents. Rosa is survived by her fiance, her three sisters, her three children, her grandchildren: Jose L. Acuna III, Ruben A. Acuna, Angelica A. Acuna, Cynthia J. Guanzon, Ruben Joseph Brito, Rachel D. Brito, Melissa Schake (Bob), Matt Hunerlach (Crystal), Kerissa Cuevas (Josue), and eight great-grandchildren. Services will be Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Ullrey Memorial Chapel, 817 Almond St., Yuba City, CA. Viewing is same day from 9am-11am, with services starting at 11am. Burial following at Sierra View 4900 Olive Ave., Olivehurst, CA.
