Shirley "Rosenstiel" Stillabower
November 24th, 1929 - May 1st, 2015
Life Legacy Shirley June (Rosenstiel) Stillabower, 84, of Hemet, CA, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2015 at her home in Sun City, CA. She was born on November 24, 1929 in Sedgewick, Kansas. Shirley was fondly known as "June" by her family and friends. To her great-granddaughter, Nattie, she was simply "Mama June".June was born during the Depression era and helped her mom and pop raise her sisters, Dixie and Dana "Cookie" and her brother, John. She met the love of her life, Stanley Stillabower, married, and relocated to California, where they settled in Westminster, California in the early 60's. June was a "WAC" back in the day. She worked in many fields and utilized her many talents; from Assembling parts at Rockwell for all the NASA Apollo spacecraft, to Beechcraft Airplanes and Robertshaw Electronics. She also worked for the San Pedro Chamber of Commerce for a spell. She then went on to work for the Los Angeles Unified School District as a Supervisor in the payroll accounting department for over 30 years. June had a fierce work ethic and a strong moral compass. She befriended many people along the way in her working career and built many friendships that lasted over the decades. Her wry sense of humor came effortlessly. Her love for God and her on-going faith was demonstrated throughout the years. June possessed enumerous talents and had many hobbies and interests which included; sewing, crocheting, stained-glass artistry and painting, just to name a few. June enjoyed traveling and taking cruises with family and friends. She especially loved going to Alaska and Tahiti and going back home to Kansas to visit. June loved music, especially The Blues. She was a whiz at the "jitterbug". She influenced her grandchildren with a passion for music. June was family gal, and shared a unique, close-knit relationship with her sisters. Being a cat lover, she cherished her many cats over the span of her lifetime. She also had the knack of preparing the best country home-cooked meals. She was loving, caring, and carried herself with grace and dignity throughout her life. She was a Class-Act. Being the selfless person she was; she was always putting others needs before her own, She had a enormous heart and it was exemplified in her life. Her generosity was immeasurable and was an extremely humble person, never taking credit for her selfless deeds. She filled so many lives with joy and happiness. We will harbor an abundance of fond memories of our precious moments with this grand lady. Mama was "A True Angel Here On Earth". She will be sorely missed. A Special "Thanks" to Roger Velasco, Mama's caregiver at Sun Country Manor, for the exceptional care, love and friendship given during her lengthy stay there. Mama June is survived by, her daughters, Linda Ann Stillabower of Salinas and Maria Elena (Oscar) Somerville of Lansing, Illinois grandchildren, Richard Munoz Romero, Jr. Maria Elena Romero and Jose Antonio Arias all of Salinas Patrick Somerville, Linda (Louis) Nguyen and Joseph Somerville all of Chicago, IL great-grandchildren, Emily, Alex and Nattie Puente Romero Jake, Joey and Aubrey Willson Romero all of Salinas Beloved sisters, Dixie (Bob) Warner of Garden Grove and Dana "Cookie" Coleman of Hemet Beloved nieces and nephews, Rhonda Drum of Garden Grove, Kelly Gardner of Hemet, Brad Warner of Folsom, Terry Warner of Missouri, Linda Rosenstiel of Costa Rica and David Rosenstiel of Arizona great-nieces and nephews, Christie Gardner of Hemet, Ashley Gardner of Temecula, Jack Gardner of Hemet, Jennifer Drum of Garden Grove, Josh Drum of Garden Grove and Brook Warner of Folsom great-grandson, Noah Nguyen of Chicago along with numerous great-nieces, nephews and other loving family. She is preceded in death by, former husband, Stanley J. Stillabower parents, Lawrence and Georgie Rosenstiel niece, Debra Warner and nephew, Phillip Warner and her beloved companion and friend, Jessie Delgado Cremation has taken place and Inurnment of her ashes at All Souls Cemetery in Long Beach, California.

Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
