Bonnie Belle Stroup

Obituary Bonnie Stroup of Fort Collins, formerly of Denver, passed away on Monday, October 1. She was born December 16, 1917 in York, Nebraska. Mrs. Stroup was a 1938 graduate of York High School, 1940 graduate of cosmetology school, and a 1942 graduate of secretarial school. Bonnie was married to Leo Stroup in 1943 for 55 years. She was a homemaker and military wife for 30 years and lived in six states, Spain, and Germany. She worked at several military base thrift stores, retail stores, and the Aurora Community College Book Store. She was a member of the Officer's Wives Club and The Eastern Star. She loved to dance, bowl, and cheer on the Broncos. Preceded in death by her parents Harry and LaVerne Cain, sister Helen Gjerloff, and husband Lt. Col. Harry Leo Stroup. She is survived by daughter Marsha Rae Stroup, daughter Patti Jo Stuntz and husband Chip; grandchildren Steve Stuntz and wife Laura, Stacy Graham and husband Matt, and Richard Stuntz. Great grandchildren Shandice Allred and husband Josh, Luke Stuntz, Kyler Stuntz, step-grandchildren Ayla and Ethen Butts; Great-great-grandson Todd James Allred, Nieces Dottie Unterseher, Christy Chartier, and constant poodle companion Samson. She was the beloved matriarch of the entire family. There was nothing she wouldn't do for her family and will be greatly missed. We send her on to her next journey with much love and appreciation. A funeral service will be held on Monday, Oct 8 at 9:30 AM at the Vessey Funeral Service Chapel with viewing from 8 to 9 AM.
