Curtis Burette Griffith
October 1st, 1941 - December 8th, 2011
Obituary Curtis Burette Bowman Griffith passed into eternal life on December 8, 2011. Burette was born on October 1, 1941 to Charles and Margaret Griffith in Eudora, AR. He attended primary grade school in Eudora, AR and graduated from Castle Heights Military Academy in Lebanon, TN. Burette graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science Degree. In 1969, Burette moved to Goodland, KS where he worked as a CPA for Kennedy & Coe. In the mid 70's, he opened his own office and had a successful practice. On December 3, 1977, he married Janet Antholz Smull. In the fall of 1985, Kennedy & Coe asked Burette to manage their office in Westminster, CO. He chose to take that position and moved his family to Colorado. In the late 80's, he purchased the CPA firm from Kennedy & Coe and again had a successful practice until he sold it in the mid 90's. Burette was also a financial planner and worked from his home until Janet's company moved her to North Little Rock, AR. While they were in Arkansas, Burette enjoyed visiting friends and family. In 2006, Janet's company moved her to Ft. Collins, CO, where she and Burette resided in Wellington, CO. Burette loved to travel, play golf, go to the symphony and spend time with his grandchildren. He had been an active member of Kiwanis and Rotary and held many church positions. He is survived by his wife, Janet: daughters; Karen and her husband Roger Hinnen; Kathleen Griffith; and Kristal Smull Griffith; three grandchildren, James, Michael and Sarah Hinnen. He is also survived by his brother, Charles J. Griffith III. A memorial service will be held at Resurrection Fellowship in Loveland, CO on Saturday,December 10, 2011 at 10:30 AM with a reception to follow.
