Aron Michael Thompson
December 28th, 1975 - August 31st, 2018
Aron Michael Thompson was born in San Luis Obispo on December 28, 1975. He resided in Chico for the past 16 years, struggling with disability and turmoil during that time. He received uncommon support and care from the compassionate people of Chico, its medical facilities and social service network. He will be remembered for his kindness and good-hearted regard for others as his own condition went unexplained and unjustified. Although he had anger for his lot in life, he seldom spoke an unkind word of anyone and continued to be delighted with himself until the end. He was a mystery to all who knew him, both frustrating and wonderful, simultaneously. His life rendered a bittersweet sadness daily for those who loved him and yet who could not console his yearning, solitary journey. Those who tried can find solace in knowing he loved you all, and although it almost seems against his will to say, his appreciation was enormous and sincere. Aron is survived by his mother, Cheryl Cameron of Cambria, CA; his father, Mel Thompson and "spare mom", Mary, of Washington; sister, Cassie Mininni (James) and children, Tessa, Chandler & Claire of Atascadero, CA; brother Jesse Savage (Leslie) and children, Wren & River of Washington; Aunts, Uncles & cousins across the land; and many friends among the displaced souls of Chico. Sincere gratefulness is extended to Chico Housing Action Team (CHAT) especially Robert Trausch, Cynthia Gailey & Jim Williams; The Jesus Center; Enloe Hospital; and all the medical, social service professionals (and bicycle shops) who cared for him for these years. Donations can be made to CHAT and The Jesus Center, both of Chico.
