Eugenio Felico De Souza
November 15th, 1935 - August 21st, 2021
Eugenio Felicio De Souza passed away peacefully at home on 08/21/2021 at the age of 85. He was born in Goa, India; at the age of 2, he immigrated with his parents to Uganda (East Africa). In 1972 he immigrated to the United States and settled with his family in Salinas, California. He is survived by his wife, Josephine; daughters, Helen Butler and Mary De Souza; son: Hycinth(aka Isaac) De Souza; son in law: Jeffrey Butler; grandchildren: Jeffrey Butler Jr, Monica Gilliard, and Khleel Crawford; siblings: Elvira, Margaret and Charles De Souza; sister in law: Maria De Souza, and extended family in India, England, and United States. He is preceded in death by his son Denis De Souza, his brother Peter De Souza, and his parents. Eugenio was a gentle man with deep convictions of his Catholic faith, who always prayed for everyone he knew. He will be deeply missed. Even though there will be an empty chair at the table, our hearts and thoughts will always hold all the memories we have for and of Eugenio. You will remain in our prayers always. Our comfort is believing that God has called you home for your reward. May the good Lord bless and keep you in the palms of his hand and may his light shine upon you perpetually. Rest in peace Eugenio, your God’s assignment on earth is accomplished.

We Entrusted Eugenio De Souza's Care To
Healey Mortuary
At Healey, we treat our Salinas Valley community members like family. Our story begins after World War II when Veteran Herbert C. Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
