Albert F. McDuffie August 1, 1925 - August 19, 2020 Albert (Al) F. McDuffie, 95, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 19, 2020, in San Diego, CA. He was born in Mascotte, Florida on August 1, 1925, sixth child of seven children. Al served in the United States Navy from 1943-1946 including service in the Pacific during World War II. After his naval career, Al was a long-time resident of Minneapolis, MN and then moved to San Diego in 1974. He worked at the Naval Ship yards as a welder until he became a business owner of a flooring company. He was a kind, decent and giving man whose work ethic carried him into his 94th year. Highly motivated, he enjoyed good conversation with his customers and friends. He loved people and history was his passion. He is preceded in death by his brothers/sisters Mary R. McDuffie, Kerman McDuffie, Spurgeon McDuffie, Mildred Pyke, Leon M. McDuffie and George A. McDuffie; granddaughter Stacy Marie Sheppard and grandson Matthew John Kaul; former spouses Donna G. McDuffie and Maureen McDuffie. Al is survived by his companion Lanfong McDuffie and his children Susan Kaul, Shelley Eitel (Jon), Sharon Kratz (Greg), Mary McDuffie, Michael D. McDuffie (Karen), John McDuffie, Edward McDuffie, David McDuffie; Angela McDuffie (David ); Grandchildren Rachel Kaul (Bill Palmquist), Erica Avery (Oren), Michael R. McDuffie, and David McDuffie, Lauren McDuffie and Savanah McDuffie; Great grandchildren Matthew Palmquist, Kiara Fisher, Ingrid Palmquist, Andre Avery, Bryson Avery, Cameron Avery. Interment and Military Burial Services will be held at Miramar National Cemetery. We treasured your strength, your kindness, your integrity and your boundless love. Although our hearts are broken, we are all so blessed to have had you and to have loved you.
