Brandon Austin Hoyt
November 11th, 1993 - July 7th, 2018
Brandon Austin Hoyt, 24, of Ione, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2018. Brandon was born November 11, 1993 in Pusan, South Korea. He was adopted by the Hoyt family in August of 1995. Brandon courageously lived with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy his entire life, and while his life was not easy because of this disease, he endured his trials to the end. Brandon loved all things BYU football. He loved going to games and watching his nephew play on the offensive line. He also loved watching BYU games with his dad and brothers while yelling animatedly at the TV screen. Brandon graduated from Argonaut HS in 2012 and loved helping coach the Argonaut HS football team during his last few years of high school. He felt such pride and joy in being on the sidelines with his team. Brandon also enjoyed playing video games on his XBox, going on errands with his mom and being her “right hand man,” and spending lots of quality time with his dog Jaxon. Brandon’s nieces and nephews loved to watch Jaxon hop up on his lap and lick his face (give him kisses). Of all the things Brandon loved in his life, he loved his family the most. He loved spending time with his family at every family event and holiday. At family events, Brandon could always be found using his wheelchair to push his nieces or nephews around on their trikes – they always looked forward to this! Brandon was an active member of the Ione Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and enjoyed going to church every Sunday and attending all of his church activities. He also loved going to the temple with his parents and family members. Brandon is survived by his parents Seth and Barbara Hoyt of Ione CA, brother Seth (Cathryn) Hoyt of Ione CA, sister Heather (Ryon) Murray of Twin Falls, ID, sister Holly Horn of Ione, CA, sister Faith (Rich) Smith of Shingle Springs, CA, brother Gareth (Tracy) Hoyt of Ione, CA, sister Noelle Gilbert of Pocatello, ID, sister Dawnae (Brian) Baldwin of Vacaville, CA, sister Marissa (Lukas) Whitacre of Folsom, CA, and brother Caleb Hoyt of Orem, UT. The Hoyt family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude and thanks to all those who provided kind acts of service to Brandon and assisted in his care. These acts of kindess brought such joy to his life. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 16th at 11:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 407 W. Marlette St. Ione, CA. Burial will be at Sunset View Cemetery, Jackson CA.
