Stanley Prosser Neeley
January 21st, 1915 - May 14th, 2013
Stanley Prosser Neeley of Lodi, California passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at the age of 98. He was born in Sacramento, CA on January 21, 1915 to George and Maud Neeley. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marjorie, whom he had married on December 7, 1941. Stan graduated from Grant Union High School in Sacramento in 1934. He was a wonderful father to Barbara (John) Miller of Pioneer and Mary (Brent) McKinzie of San Diego; grandfather to Stacy (LeeRoy) Schleigh and Chris (Carrie) Miller; and proud great grandfather to Abigail, Addison, Ashley, Lyndsey and Alyssa. Stan worked as an engineer for the Southern Pacific Railroad for 42 years beginning in Sacramento, moving to San Francisco and eventually San Jose. He volunteered at Willow Glen United Methodist Church in San Jose for over 50 years prior to moving to Lodi in 2006. He spent many years camping and playing card games with his family and friends, loved fishing, golfing and lawn bowling. Stan's loving, kind and generous spirit touched all who knew him. His family and friends will treasure wonderful memories. Barbara and Mary would like to invite family and friends to a celebration of his life on Saturday, June 1 at 1:00 PM at First United Methodist Church, 200 West Oak Street (at corner of North Church Street) in Lodi, California. Private family inurnment will be held in San Jose. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Hospice of San Joaquin, 3888 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, CA 95204-1953 will be appreciated.
