Robert Simon
August 8th, 1950
Robert Leon Simon, 64, of Prunedale and lifelong resident of Monterey county, passed away on June 8, 2015 in Salinas. He was born on August 8, 1950 in Salinas, CA. Robert proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and was a former member of the American Legion Post #593, and the Prunedale Senior Center. He had volunteered for the Salinas Rodeo for over 35 years, and was a tissue/organ donor. Robert will be missed dearly by his family and friends. Robert is survived by, his wife, Julie Simon of Prunedale sisters, Virginia (Al) Sanchez of Penn Valley Sheila (Patrick) Boelens of Prunedale along with numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by, his parents, Frank and Geneva Simon, and his brothers and sisters. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Prunedale Senior Center 8300-A Prunedale N. Prunedale, CA 93907. At Robert's request no services will be held, cremation to take place.

Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
