She and her brother and sister were taken to the Children’s Home in Boise, Idaho. When Velma was four years old she was adopted by George and Olive Admyers of Caldwell, Idaho.

Velma and Bob traveled the world and took each of their grandchildren on their own special adventure trip. She loved her knitting machines, crocheting and making all kinds of crafts for her family. Velma also enjoyed spending many years researching genealogies. She came to faith in Christ at an early age. She enjoyed worship services with her church family and in later years watching the services on television.
Velma was predeceased by her parents, husband Robert Earl Horton, sister Janelle Kensmoe, brothers Charles and Glen Admyers, Clair Wilcox and son-in-law Les McMullen. She is survived by her half-sister Jayne Douglas, three children, Rosanna Jacoby (Walt) of Nampa, Idaho, Patricia McMullen of Anderson, California, and Dennis Horton of Atwater, California, 4 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
