Marilyn Joyce (McCoy) DeVaney June 24,1937 May 9, 2020 Marilyn Joyce (McCoy) DeVaney, passed away peacefully at home with her family besides her. Marilyn was born in Cavour, South Dakota. She later moved to Omaha Nebraska where she went to cosmetologist school, and where she met her husband. She then moved from Colorado and onto California since 1979. She worked for Mount Diablo School District at Valley View Middle School in the food services and retired. She raised many grandchildren which she loved. She was kind and had a compassionate spirit. She loved her books, roses, gardening, and most of all enjoyed working and volunteering at St. Matthew Luthern Church. Marilyn is survived by her two sons; Kevin (Linda) DeVaney; Kyle DeVaney; and daughter Kathleen Schmidt (Brandon); ten grandchildren Joshua DeVaney, Matt Harbans, Justin DeVaney, Nina Harbans, Kaia Yonemura, David DeVaney, Cody DeVaney, Eric DeVaney, Jasmine DeVaney, and Logan Schmidt; two great grandchildren Krue Gallegos and Kaden DeVaney and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents Elmer & Doris (White) McCoy; her husband James William DeVaney; two sisters Marian (McCoy) Jones; Mildred (McCoy) Van Ede; Brother Albert (Sonny) McCoy. No Services; will be buried in Memory Garden at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Walnut Creek, Ca.
