Teresita Lumain Repiedad
December 12th, 1941 - November 22nd, 2021
Teresita Lumain Repiedad, M.D., 79, of Ocala, Florida passed away November 22, 2021 at the home of her daughter in St. Johns, FL. She was the wife of Aguinaldo “Jun” Villareal Repiedad, Jr., for 52 years. Teresita was born in Ilo Ilo City, Philippines a daughter of the late Guillermo and Adelaide Lumain. She began her medical career at the UERMMMC (University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center). She did her residency at the Hospital of Manila and moved to the United States working at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Yonkers, NY. She progressed through Phelps Memorial Hospital in Sleepy Hollow and then the Health Department of NYC in the Bronx. In 1980, the family moved to fair weathered, Marion County, FL. She began work at Harrell Medical Center. She then opened her solo practice in 1987 as Oakhurst Family Practice. Alongside her beloved staff, she walked many of this area’s residents through their lives for 38 years. She retired in 2018, after 51 years of collective service in medicine. She and her husband were proud of the choices they made, the career she built, and the family they raised together. She enjoyed spending time with her large extended brood. She shopped at all of the malls, near and far. Christmas was her favorite time of year. She enjoyed walking the trail at Jervy Gantt park with her husband and administrative assistant. She loved going to church at Blessed Trinity Catholic, where she prayed for, believed in, and accepted anyone she came in contact with for nearly 40 years. She belonged to many organizations including the American Academy of Family Physicians. For a short time, she also served in the U.S. Army Reserves. She is survived by her husband, Aguinaldo “Jun” and sons, Aguinaldo “Jojo” Lumain Repiedad, III; Dr. Guillermo “Poc” Lumain Repiedad and daughter Teresita “Tess/Maritess” Repiedad Weinberg along with her daughters-in-law Elaine and Ranida and son-in-law Dr. Daniel Weinberg. She was the grandmother of AJ, Nico, Caroline, Ryan, Steven and Henry. She is also survived by siblings, Dr. Beatriz Lumain Catral (Cucufate), Mr. Reynaldo Generoso (Carmen) and Mr. Ramon Chito Generoso (Jessica). In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in her name to to NASSA/Caritas Philippines via caritas.org and/or Blessed Trinity Catholic Church. Her inurnment will be on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Highland Memorial Park at 12 noon. It is open to the public.
