Rest In Peace Tommy Montoya AKA Tommy Gunns. Tommy Montoya was born May 26, 1966 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He passed away Saturday August 31st 2013 in Albuquerque, New Mexico at the age of 47. Tommy loved everyone and was quick to joke and make you laugh. Tommy was humble and very giving, his whole life he gave so much more than he ever received. Tommy would help anyone in need never considering his needs. Tommy would get new things for Christmas and give everything away to those in need. Tommy's heart was like a child. He loved deeply and forgave easily. Tommy loved spending time with family and friends. Tommy had so many friends, he made friends instantly, easily and for life. Tommy loved cars and liked working on them and detailing them. Tommy was an artist and his artwork is beautiful, proudly displayed in many of his family members and friends homes. Tommy was preceded in death by his Mother Joyce Dees, Maternal Grandparents Donald and Julie McVay and Paternal Grandparents Dorman Dees and Lillian Gordan. Tommy is survived by his wife, Diane Gurule-Montoya; sons, Arthur Garcia and wife Cindy and Bobby Gurule and wife Jennifer; daughters, Tanya Garcia and Catalina Garcia and husband Joseph; father, David Dees and wife Liz; brother David Jose Lovato and wife Ava; sister, Sheri Leger and husband Richard; 11 grandchildren, Revae, Danielle, Gary, Antionette, Mikey, Briana, Melanie, Marshal, Kiara, Daysha and Ynes; niece, Tazianne Gomez; nephews, Richie, Tristan and Trey Leger; cousins, Adrian Butch Conger and partner David, Sonya Michele and husband Bill, Ann Heim and her family; maternal aunt, Judith Seligman; maternal cousins, Kristy Robinson and Lissa Guzman and her husband Joe and paternal aunt, Jan Hutchinson. Tommy's wife had many siblings and he loved all those siblings and their children and families. Tommy also had numerous additional cousins and friends. No words can express our sincerest gratitude to the University Of New Mexico Hospital and their outstanding medical and nursing staff who cared for Tommy with dignity, compassion and respect. Special Thanks to Mindy, Jennifer, Kathy, Sara, Laura, Ryan and Adrian. The week we were there was so hard, you assisted with our needs just as much as Tommy's needs. God Bless All of you. A Viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 in the chapel of Riverside Funeral Home of Albuquerque, located at 225 San Mateo Blvd. NE,at 5:00 PM with recitation of the Holy Rosary and Eulogy to follow at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday September 12, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, located at 309 Stover Ave Albuquerque NM 87102. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park 924 Menaul Blvd NE Albuquerque NM 87107. A Pot Luck reception will follow at Riverside Funeral Home of Albuquerque Reception Hall. Pall Bearers will be Arthur Garcia, Bobby Gurule, Joseph Garcia, David Jose Lovato, Gabriel Garcia, Richard Leger, Richard Leger Jr., Adrian Butch Conger.
