Warner Robins, GA-Cecil Andrew Colbert, 87, peacefully passed away on the afternoon of August 29, 2017. A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, September 1, 2017 in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. Following the services, Mr. Colbert will be laid to rest in Parkway Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 1:00PM – 2:00PM, one hour prior to the service on September 1, 2017 at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. Reverend Anthony McPhail will officiate. Mr. Colbert was born March 19, 1930, in Acworth, GA to the late Charles and Susie Colbert. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and retired after 23 years of service, some of which was spent serving in Vietnam. After retiring from the military, he later went to work civil service at Robins Air Force Base. He was of the Methodist faith and was a faithful member of Centerville United Methodist Church. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing cards, and fishing. Mr. Colbert also loved going to the beach every year and always enjoyed watching the dolphins and dining out for good seafood, while spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be greatly missed by all. Along with his parents, Charles and Susie Colbert, he is preceded in death by his three brothers Clyde, Earl, and Carl Colbert. His memory will forever be cherished by his loving wife of 67 years Sara Colbert; son, Charles Anthony Colbert (Peggy); daughter, Elaine Marie Shierling (Robin); daughter, Patricia Annette Dietsch (Terry); five grandchildren, Andrew James Colbert, Michelle Renee young (Seth), Nicholas Wayne Knipp (Amanda), Jon Michael Dietsch, and Chase Colbert Shierling; two great grandchildren, Isabelle Marie Knipp and Jackson Thomas Knipp; sister, Emma Jean Williams; and brother, Lamar Colbert. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Heart of GA Hospice at 103 Westridge Dr. Warner Robins, GA 31088 or to Centerville United Methodist Church at 600 N Houston Lake Blvd, Centerville, GA 31028.
