Georgie "Nina" R. Hunt

HUNT, Georgie R. “Nina,” 96, of Tampa, went home to be with the Lord, May 14, 2016. She was born in North Carolina, raised in Memphis, TN and lived in various places before settling in Tampa with her family in 1965. Through her church involvement, her career, and her family, Georgie led a life of service. She was an active member of Oak Grove UMC, was a Sunday school teacher and held many positions at Oak Grove UMC as well as all the other churches she attended prior to settling in Tampa. She worked for the Judeo-Christian Health Clinic, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and also taught at Twin Lakes Elementary, where her daughter Anne currently teaches. She loved spending time at the beach. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James W. “Jimmie,” and is survived by her loving daughters; Connie Hunt, Anne Copeland, and husband Bob; grandchildren (lights of her life and her pride and joys), Rob Copeland, Cheryl Copeland; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Graveside services will take place at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 19 at Oak Grove Cemetery. A memorial service will take place at 7 p.m., Thursday, at Oak Grove United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service.
