Mr. John David Carter, Jr. age 84 a resident of Auburndale passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021. Mr. Carter was born January 28, 1937 in Narrows, Virginia to John David and Thelma Katherine (Fleeman) Carter, Sr. He was a retired Construction Superintendent in Commercial Construction, attended Virginia Tech for Civil Engineering, member of New Life Baptist Church in Auburndale and a Mason with Siloam Lodge # 456 in Cheshire, Ohio. John was a United States Navy Veteran serving during Vietnam & the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed reading, gardening and spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by his parents; son – John David Carter, III; 2 brothers – Thomas & Douglas. John is survived by his loving family, wife of 28 years – Sharon Carter of Auburndale, FL.; 2 sons – Dewayne A. (Kristie) Carter of Lakeland, FL. and Darrin D. (Lorraine) Carter of Winter Haven, FL.; daughter – Anna Maria Desrochers of Sanford, ME.; stepdaughter – Sharon (Dr. Mark Kosinsky) Six of Windermere, FL.; brother – Ronald E. Carter of Tampa, FL.; sister – Bonita Taylor of Radford, VA.; 10 grandchildren – Chris, Jeremy, Candace, Ava, Andrew, Hailey, Lauren, Brandon, Tabitha & Jordan and 6 great grandchildren. A memorial service with Military Honors will be held 11:00 am Saturday, November 6th at Kersey Funeral Home.
