Clayton Lee Sweat of Davenport, Florida passed away at his residence on August 20, 2017. He was 74. Clayton was born on August 30, 1942 in Hollister, Florida to Chester and Hazel Gertrude Harper Sweat. He was retired after spending 47 years working with the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local # 673, of Orlando, Florida. Clayton was of the Baptist faith, and he loved spending time with his family and friends and going fishing. He was also known to love old westerns and "classic" country music. Clayton was Somebody to everyone he met. He was predeceased by his parents and sister, Joan Elizabeth Tucker. Clayton is survived by his daughters; Deanie May and John Fouche of Maryville, TN, Kimberly Dawn Howell and Virgil Sears of Davenport, FL; grandchildren, Jamie, Allysa, Jared, Amber, Leah and great grandchildren, Jacie, Trent, Devin and Caleb, nieces, Kay Owens, Carla Hancock and Mickie Driggers, all of Palatka, Florida. A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 5:00 pm until the celebration of life service at 6:00 pm at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City. In lieu of flowers donations in Clayton's name may be made to: St. Jude 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
