Harvey E. Carter

Harvey E. Carter (Fast Draw), born in Cairo, Georgia on February 21, 1938 went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at the age of 83. Harvey died peacefully at home with family by his side. He is proceeded in death by his father Roy T. Carter and his mother Ocie Carter. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Bobbie W. Carter; son, Michael (Kim) Carter of Haines City, FL; daughter, Belinda Crowley of Haines City, FL; and his 6 grandchildren, Chance, Ridge, & Quinn Carter, Destiny Crowley, Allona and Bryelle Turnbow; 2 brothers, Dr. Mickey (Sonja) Carter and Roger Carter both of Haines City, FL. Harvey was a beloved husband, father, brother and papa who loved serving the Lord. He was a member of Landmark Baptist Church in Haines City and served as a Deacon for 42 years. Harvey held the world championship in fast-draw in the late 1960’s. He could draw, cock and fire a gun in less than 19/100th of a second. Harvey used his sharp shooting talents to promote his faith and testimony in winning souls to the Lord. He was the CEO of Carter’s Feed Store, Economy Termite & Pest Control, Economy Auto Sales, and Economy Glass Tinting. In addition, he was presented Honorary Deputy Sheriff by Sheriff Lawrence Crow and Sheriff Grady Judd. He served on the Polk County Sheriff’s Posse which was called out for emergencies or to find missing children. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. with funeral services starting at 2:00 p.m. at Landmark Baptist Church in Haines City, FL. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Haines City, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Landmark Baptist Media Ministry which held a special place in Harvey’s heart.
