Pierre "Papa" Joseph

Pierre "Papa" Joseph, 90, of Davenport, FL passed away on February 19, 2024 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 17, 1933 in Baie De Henne, Haiti to Nozan Joseph and Mercedes Odige. He embarked on a journey from Haiti in 1973, first making his home in Freeport, Bahamas, before settling in the United States in 1976. Pierre dedicated two decades of his life to the Festival Restaurant in Miami, FL, retiring in 1994. Following retirement, he ventured into entrepreneurship, establishing a small business selling goods. Pierre was a cherished member of the Bethany Baptist Church in Miami, FL, and later the Beracah Baptist Church in Dallas, GA. His commitment to faith was evident in his role as a mentor to the youth within the church community. He found joy in spending time with his family, whether watching wrestling on TV or casting lines while fishing in his younger years. It was said that he was a jokester, always happy, a man who always helping others in their time of need. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ilodia Joseph; son, Joubert Joseph; and seven siblings. Pierre leaves behind to cherish his memory, sons, Nicolas (Judmie) Joseph of Brooklyn, NY, Josue (Carolle) Joseph of Ocoee, FL and Ernsy Joseph of Haiti; daughters, Mickel-Ange Joseph of Miami, FL, Bleuette Joseph of Davenport, FL and Guerda (Renan) Saintilme of Davenport, FL; grandchildren, Magalie (Anglade) Saint Fort, Guytho (Nehemie) Saintil, Claudia (Evency) Pierre, Robenson Joseph, Cassandra Andre, Cindy (Mackendy) Justin and Gracemie Joseph; great grandchildren, Ashley Michel, Angela Sainfort, Isiah Santil, Israel Saintil and Isabella Saintil; and several nieces and nephews. The families affected by this passing are: Mathelier, Jean-Baptiste, and Joseph. A visitation will be held on Friday, March 1st, 2024 at 10:00 am followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Haines City, FL. The committal service and interment will be on Saturday, March 2nd, 2024 at 10 am at Paulding Memorial Gardens in Hiram, GA.
