Brenda Powell

Brenda Gayle Powell, born on May 15, 1944 in Galveston, TX, was called home to be with Jesus on April 8, 2024 in Lakeland, FL surrounded by her loved ones. Brenda was a beloved wife, mother and Mimi who loved spending time with her family more than anything else. She loved the beach, bingo and all dogs, especially her fur babies. She was also an avid traveler, shopaholic and had a green thumb. She is preceded in death by her parents, James Leonard and Sarah Frances Weaver; brother, Jerry Weaver. She is survived by husband, Jack Powell; daughters, Staci (Wally) Petty, Denise Powell Staton, Kelli Powell Williams; son, Skip (Melanie) Powell; grandchildren, Whitney, Mackynzi, Tony, Torey, and Clayton; great grandchildren, Landon, Gaige, Avery, Abbi Jo, and Lacey; sister, Jane Melson and several nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know and love her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Good Shepherd Hospice in Lakeland, FL or the ASPCA of Polk County.
