Vickie Leigh Birch
April 28th, 1959 - December 15th, 2023
Vickie Leigh Birch (64) of Wimauma, Florida went to be with the Lord after a long illness at Moffitt Cancer Center on December 15, 2023, in Tampa Florida. Vickie was born in Norfolk, Va. on April 28, 1959, to Douglas N. Coffield and Ruby Avaline Coffield. She graduated from Deep Creek High School in 1977 and Virginia Wesleyan University in 1997. She worked for the State of Virginia at Tidewater Community College and the Department of Labor. Vickie was preceded in death by her father Douglas N. Coffield Sr. and her brother Douglas N. Coffield Jr. Vickie is survived by her husband Robert N. Birch Jr., son Robert N. Birch III (Tabatha), stepdaughter Jenifer Washington, grandchildren Jordon, Skye, Christian, and Angelia. Mother, Ruby Boger, brothers Cecil Coffield (Dee Dee) and Scott Coffield (Terrie), sister Christina Ash-Shelton (Alvin) and stepbrother Doug Boger (Trina) and numerous nieces and nephews. Vickie will always be remembered by her reflection of the joy and light of her Lord and Savior which radiated from deep within. She was a faithful Christian woman, who loved life, God and cared for all people. She loved her family dearly and will be remembered for her love, her laughter and the joy of sharing the Gospel with others. She was an extraordinary woman who served the Lord no matter where she was. Her heart was in serving on the mission field to share the Lord with unreached people. The family will have a Celebration of Life on January 6th, 2024, at 3 p.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church 1250 E. College Ave, Ruskin, FI 33570. A memorial service will be held in Chesapeake, Va on January 15, 2024, at Sonlight Church, 414 S. Battlefield Blvd S., Chesapeake, Va. beginning with a gathering of family and friends at 11:00 a.m., funeral service will commence at 12:30 p.m. Graveside service to follow at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. If you wish to donate flowers please send them to Oman Funeral Home, 635 Cedar Rd, Chesapeake, Va. 23322 on January 14 or 15. If you wish to make a donation please send it to The Gathering Place, 208 Apollo Beach Blvd., Apollo Beach, Florida 33572 or online at tapss.church (mission donation). These funds will be used to enable others to go on mission trips.
