Mary Ellen Ireland, 77, passed away peacefully, in her home, on Saturday, November 15th, 2015, after a year long battle with stage 4 Pancreatic cancer. She was born September 16, 1938, in Washington DC, to the late Bernice and Robert Lee Williams. In 1957, she married James T. Ireland, in Arlington, Virginia, while he was served in the United States Air Force, at the Pentagon. The couple then moved to Goldsboro, North Carolina, from 1959 to 1965, before Jim received transfer orders to Hawaii, from 1965 to 1968. They returned back to Virginia, in 1969, where Jim retired from the United States Air Force in 1974. Mary Ellen worked in an office administrative role for the government for ten years, and other small companies in their travels before becoming a housewife, and raising two children. They moved from Chantilly, Virginia, to Melbourne, Florida, in December of 1994. Mary Ellen then re-entered the office administration industry for brief stints at Pulte Homes, and All Around Condo Management, to keep her busy. Mary Ellen was a devoted Protestant and very active with the Faith Fellowship Church, in Melbourne. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, James Theodore; two children, Gregory James & wife, Lisa, and Lori Ellen; four grandchildren, Michael Collin & wife, Kasey, and Christopher Michael, Amanda Leigh Cowart, Zach, and wife, Jennifer Nash; and six great grandchildren, Landon William, Mercedes and McKenzie Cook, Austin, Madison and Jaxon Cowart; and one great great grandchild, Dixie Cook. She will be sadly missed by many and all. Viewing will be held Wednesday, Nov 18th, at Beach Funeral Home, located at 4999 North Wickham Road, across from Home Depot, from 5 to 7pm. There will be a church service on Thursday, November 19th, starting at 1pm at Faith Fellowship Church, 2820 Business Center Blvd. A graveside service at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, is to be determined at a later date.
