William F. Petrone,"Billy", of Melbourne, Fl. passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 of complications related to diabetes and multiple strokes. Billy was born on September 21st, 1955 in Providence, Rhode Island and raised in Fajardo, Puerto Rico. After graduating from Roosevelt Roads High School in 1973, Billy attended college at Graham University and Denver University majoring in Hospitality and Culinary Arts. He was a well respected chef and entrepreneur, and settled in Brevard County. Billy's joy for life, his generous spirit and kindness of heart was cherished by those who knew him. His ability to light up a room and create any experience into a memorable event was a gift he gave to all. He demonstrated passion and artistry in the culinary world, and became "famous" for his cheesecakes, launching a small business serving many high end restaurants and private clients. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Esperanza (Hope) Petrone, and leaves his siblings Donna Kevis of Sperryville, Va, Robert Petrone, of Melbourne Fl., JoAnn Petrone of Melbourne, Fl., Albert Petrone of Vancouver, Canada and Joseph Petrone of Washington, DC. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be held at Ascension Catholic Church located at 2950 N Harbor City Blvd, Melbourne, FL on Saturday January 28th 2017 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers please consider sending donations to The Daily Bread or to Ascension Catholic Church.
