William "Bill" Francis Rustemier
October 10th, 1928 - November 9th, 2017
William (Bill) Francis Rustemier, 89 of Satellite Beach, passed away on November 9, 2017 Bill was born in Bancroft, Iowa, on October 10, 1928. He was the son of William Patrick and Frances Wessels Rustemier. He graduated from St. John High School in Bancroft and upon graduation enlisted in the Air Force where he served honorably for six years as a Weapons Specialist at Lackland Air Force Base. While there, Bill was a pitcher for the Lackland War Hawks baseball team and the City Majors in San Antonio. After his military service, Bill received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of Northern Iowa. While in college, he met and married Catherine. Upon graduation, he accepted teaching positions with the Department of Defense Dependent's Schools at Ramey AFB, Puerto Rico and Torrejon AFB, Madrid, Spain. He was a retired Michigan Public School teacher from Andover High School, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Bill and his wife relocated to Florida in 1990. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Catherine , children, Dr. Mark(Regina) Rustemier, Nebo, NC, Nancy (Terry) Geraghty, Cumming, GA, Peggy (Arthur) Hunnel, Pace, FL and seven grandchildren, Eric and Bridget Rustemier, Dillon, Shannon and Devin Geraghty and Gabrielle and Jordyn Hunnel, and sister, Carol Goche, Bancroft, Iowa. He was preceded in death by sister, Patricia D'Orazio and brother, Thomas Rustemier. Bill was also a member of the American Legion Post 200 of Satellite Beach, FL and the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel. Funeral services will be held at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, Indialantic, FL Monday, November 13th. Visitation held in the church chapel from 1:30 - 3:00 followed by a funeral mass at 3:00 pm. Burial with Military Honors will be held after Thanksgiving at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Bancroft, Iowa. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Brevard Association for the Advancement of the Blind, 674 South Patrick Drive, Satellite Beach, FL 32937
