Thresia Ann Ward
December 21st, 1944 - January 13th, 2022
Thresia Ann Ward (nee Standridge) passed from this earth on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at the age of 77. A current resident of Indialantic, Florida, Thresia was born on December 21, 1944 to Harvey and Loma Standridge of Lexington, Oklahoma. She was the youngest of four children. Thresia attended Lexington Public Schools until she was married. On September 24, 1961, Thresia married her childhood sweetheart, Robert (Bob) Neil Ward also from Lexington. After marrying, they embarked on a lifelong adventure which would take them all across the country and the world. Thresia took great pride in supporting her husband throughout his military career. In 1968, she attended beauty college in Fort Rucker, Alabama, earning her beautician’s license and enjoying great success in this line of work. Thresia’s dream of becoming a mother was fulfilled in 1978, when she and Bob welcomed the first of two children, a son named Matthew. In 1980, they welcomed their daughter, Amy. In 1990, Thresia achieved a lifelong goal of obtaining her high school diploma (GED) which brought great pride to her and her family. Thresia loved to tell stories about her years as an Army Officer’s wife and she loved making “good friends” all over the world. She viewed being a loving wife and wonderful mother as her greatest accomplishment. This accomplishment was only surpassed when Thresia became a grandmother. Known lovingly as “Nana” and “Grandma”, she doted on her four grandchildren. Thresia was very proud of her family and treasured her time with them. Thresia was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Loma, her brother Harvey Don and two sisters, Irma Jean and Joyce. Thresia is survived by her husband of 60 years, Bob, her children, Matthew and his wife Amanda, and Amy and her husband Shane, as well as her four grandchildren; Ian, Ashley, Logan and Declan
