Mark T. Shinn

Mark T. Shinn (64) of Melbourne, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, February 17, 2022, surrounded by his family. Mark was born on July 4, 1957, to James Raymond Shinn and Loretta Ann Shinn (McFarland), in New Jersey. He was the youngest of eight children. He was raised in Spring Lake, New Jersey, and graduated from St. Rose High School in Belmar, New Jersey, on June 4, 1976. After, he attended Edgecliff College in Cincinnati, Ohio, and Florida Technical College in Orlando, Florida. Mark worked in telecommunications as a network analyst for Northrop Grumman for 20 years until 2008 when he opened a private business. After moving to Melbourne, Florida, in the early 1980s, Mark met his soul mate, Debbie. They were married on April 12, 1984, and were happily married for almost 38 years. They had three children together: Meaghan (33), Michaela (32), and Michael (28). Mark loved the outdoors, specifically going to the beach with his family, hiking in the Shenandoah Mountains, spending time by the pool, and gardening. He had a green thumb and loved to grow vegetables, especially peppers, which he used often in his cooking. He loved to create meals for his family and was known for his spaghetti sauce and bottle hot sauces. He was a lover of animals, especially his dogs MacDougal and McDuff, and loved to watch birds in the pond by his home. He was a devoted husband, dedicated and hands-on father, and proud grandfather to his granddaughter, Madeleine, who lovingly called him "Bop." A sentimental and protective man, Mark was always there to help and care for his family and those he loved. Nothing meant more to him than his family. He is deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
